Lt. Col. Kyle M. Kinney is assistant professor of Aerospace Studies, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 645, The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. He recruits, trains, motivates and counsels highly qualified young men and women as prospective Air Force and Space Force Officers. He promotes Air Force and Space Force career opportunities to university and high school students, faculty, parents and administrators. He also instructs college courses, developing cadets and educating them on the foundation of the U.S. Department of the Air Force.
Lt Col. Kinney entered the Air Force in 2009 and received his commission through Reserve Officer Training School from Ohio University. He completed Undergraduate Air Battle Manager Training in Sept. 2010. He is a senior air battle manager with more than 2,200 hours in the E-3B/C. He and has held a variety of positions at the squadron, group, and wing levels. In addition to supporting numerous multinational exercises in Southwest Asia and the Indo-Pacific regions, he has deployed multiple times in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and INHERENT RESOLVE.
Prior to his current position, Lt. Col. Kinney was the chief, emerging doctrine, strategy and concepts directorate at Curtis E. LeMay Center, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama.
